Hopefully there'll be news soon. Was watching the smoke billow up behind Lukens as I rode home. Fortunately the weather is supposed to cool off and become more humid. Damn man. If fire fighters didn't have it bad enough. Posted by CFIT on 09/19/06 Responses: (1)

Brush Fire Breaks Out Near La Canada Flintridge (CBS) LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. A fast-moving brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon forced the closure of Angeles Crest Highway at its junction with Angeles Forest Highway.
The blaze, which was about 10 miles north of La Canada Flintridge and five miles away from Mt. Wilson in the Angeles National Forest, was reported at 3:08 p.m., said Kathy Peterson of the U.S. Forest Service.
She said air tankers and helicopters, as well as hand crews, were battling the blaze, which was threatening the Clear Creek School House and the Clear Creek Ranger Station.
As of 4:45 p.m., about 40 acres were involved and the fire was growing.
Winds were pushing the flames to the north.
County firefighters were joining forces with forest service firefighters.
Like the so-called Day Fire, which has been burning since Labor Day, the La Canada Flintridge blaze fire is burning in rugged terrain at the 4,000-foot level.
